Story 6: QCH Delivers Its First Babies
Opening of the Childbirth Program
The QCH Childbirth Program opened on November 24, 1999, carrying forward the 95-year legacy of The Grace Hospital's maternal and newborn care.
The 24,500-square-foot addition at QCH was designed for patient comfort, featuring 30 inpatient beds, eight labour and birthing rooms, and new clinics offering prenatal care, including fetal assessments and ultrasounds, as well as postnatal support such as breastfeeding services.
