Kimberly LeBlanc, President of the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) visited Queensway Carleton Hospital (QCH) for an inspiring visit to kick-off the upcoming National Nursing Week and to celebrate QCH leadership and expertise in skin and wound care.

During the visit, Kimberly met with the QCH Wound Care team, led by Andrea Trainor. As an Advanced Practice Nurse in Chronic Diseases, Skin, Wound and Ostomy services, Andrea’s commitment to excellence has garnered national recognition and helped establish QCH as a leader in this specialized field.

Andrea and Kimberly share a long-standing connection through their contributions to national practice standards and their involvement with Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Canada (NSWOCC). Both have served on key clinical guideline taskforces and are recognized mentors and educators in the field. Their shared vision for innovation and excellence makes Kimberly’s visit a particularly special moment for the QCH team.

Andrea brings extraordinary expertise and vision to QCH’s Chronic Disease and Wound Care programs. Her work not only strengthens care for our local community but also shapes national practice standards. She embodies everything we celebrate during National Nursing Week. It is very special for the QCH team to have this recognized by Kimberley Leblanc, a global nursing leader.
