Meet Dr. Magdalena Kisilewicz, recipient of the 2025 D. Aubrey Moodie Physician Award.

The D. Aubrey Moodie Physician Award is presented to a physician who provides excellence in the delivery of service and care. Nominees are put forward based on accountability and commitment; collaboration and communication; and innovation and perseverance.

Dr. Magdalena Kisilewicz is an excellent physician and a very special person. She communicates clearly and effectively, sharing valuable insights and ideas for improving patient care in the ICU.  

During the pandemic, she quickly stepped up to help plan, develop protocols, and launch crucial training, conducting simulation exercises for the ED and ICU teams. This effort prepared us better for the challenges that followed, addressing potential issues and improving care. Her contributions were pivotal during this challenging time. 

She not only embraces change but drives it, successfully implementing new initiatives and best practices. Dr. Kisilewicz is a strong contributor to the many committees she has joined. She excels in her role as a physician, demonstrating top-notch skills, strong communication, and quick decision-making. Equally impressive is her dedication to teaching, particularly through her work with the Simulation Program. As the physician lead, she provides invaluable knowledge and insight, crafting detailed SIM cases and leading debriefs that enhance overall care.
