Mary Ann Ferguson – 2025 D. Aubrey Moodie Employee Award
Meet Mary Ann Ferguson, recipient of the 2025 D. Aubrey Moodie Employee Award.
The D. Aubrey Moodie Employee Award is presented to an employee who provides excellence in the delivery of service and care. Nominees are put forward based on accountability and commitment; collaboration and communication; and innovation and perseverance.
Mary Ann Ferguson has truly become an integral part of the Mental Health team, forming remarkable relationships with psychiatrists and nurses to enhance patient care. Despite the pharmacy's minimal presence on the unit in the past, she has shown remarkable perseverance and outgoingness to establish her role and demonstrate the invaluable contributions pharmacists bring to the interdisciplinary team.
Recently, Mary Ann tackled a complex issue with a critical schizophrenia medication, navigating through extensive bureaucracy and back-and-forth with the Ministry of Health. Her efforts not only simplified a cumbersome process for QCH but also for the entire region.
Her perseverance, collaborative spirit, and unwavering commitment to patient care have long been recognized across the hospital. Mary Ann has worked closely with nursing staff on significant projects like the QCH Smart Pumps, the IV manual, and the drug library, ensuring these technologies meet their needs. Additionally, she has dedicated herself to reviewing the TOH IV Manual annually, diligently informing physicians and nurses of key updates—a task that requires immense patience due to its manual nature.
Congratulations, Mary Ann!
