Modernizing Monitoring Stations
Queensway Carleton Hospital continues to invest in advanced technology to improve patient care and support our clinical teams. We now have 18 fully networked Philips PIC iX Central Stations installed across the organization.
This important milestone ensures that all critical care areas—including the ICU, Emergency Department (ED), Operating Room (OR), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and Special Care Nursery—are now equipped with vendor-supported, reliable monitoring systems.
The central stations serve as the communication hub for real-time patient monitoring, offering care teams continuous access to vital signs and waveform data. By fully modernizing this network, we’ve strengthened our ability to provide timely, high-quality care in our most critical environments.
The modernization of our central station network not only improves reliability but also ensures QCH is using current, vendor-supported technology that enhances patient safety and system performance.
As we prepare for our future with EPIC, this upgrade is a key step toward more integrated, real-time patient care—giving our teams the tools they need to deliver the best possible outcomes.
