Kristen Stevens – 2025 QCH Excellence Award for Collaboration
Meet Kristen Stevens, recipient of the 2025 QCH Excellence Award for Collaboration.
The QCH Excellence Award for Collaboration is given to a person who consistently demonstrates an effective collaboration with others to produce positive results. This may be shown by seeking out different viewpoints, establishing partnerships across the hospital, building consensus, cooperative problem-solving and sharing information to contribute to help make other teams successful.
Kristen has been a midwife at QCH for many years. Throughout that time, she has improved patient safety and experience by tirelessly working to enable midwives to work to their full scope of practice as part of a truly inter-professional team – working across disciplines on standards, policies and process changes. She has collaborated with leadership and the broader team on many major projects, like electronic documentation, labour policies and midwife-led induction of labour.
Her nominator said that “Midwives at QCH are proud to be one of the best-integrated departments in Ontario – in a large part due to Kristen’s efforts.”
Congratulations, Kristen!
