Full circle in the Volunteer Office

You can find Jane Johnson in the Volunteer Office, where she has “rejoined” the Volunteer Services Team after retiring from a full-time position as an Employee Scheduling Clerk/Coordinator in September.

“I started at QCH as a Volunteer in January 2011, and immediately felt part of a very special team. Before that, I worked with Human Resources one morning a week.

Then, in 2014, a great full-time opportunity opened up for me to join QCH as an employee scheduling clerk/coordinator.

I saw many changes at QCH during those years. The pandemic certainly turned all our worlds upside down, and we witnessed it at arm's length in Staffing. I can attest to the hard work of the staff, who showed up day after day, night after night, to do what was asked of them.

Returning as a volunteer, it was a bonus to be assigned to the Volunteer Office, where I got to work with my previous Manager, Glenn and Mike.”

I knew I couldn’t just walk away from QCH when I retired. I made many friends here and knew I would miss everyone, so returning to volunteer was the perfect fit. I’m back to see people I used to work with and give back to this great hospital.
