Pilot Program Supports Patients Living with Dementia

QCH has continued to focus on stewardship and sustainability over the last year.

A pilot program introduced an enhanced, interdisciplinary team to support patients requiring constant observation due to conditions like confusion, delirium, and dementia. The Patient Observation Resource Team are a group of Patient Care Aides who have received enhanced training to support patients with dementia and responsive behaviours.

Through these efforts, the hospital is committed to improving patient observation practices and providing more tailored, compassionate care for those who require constant monitoring.
